Description

As the Divisional Head of Cultural Affairs, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, coordination, and promotion of cultural programs and activities within the organization or region. This leadership position requires strong management skills, as you will guide teams working on cultural projects and initiatives that enhance the community’s cultural heritage, creativity, and arts engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organise, facilitate and direct cultural affairs directorate within the Department by inculcating a reading culture, ensuring lifelong learning for community members, preserving arts, heritage and culture assets, and unleashing creative and performing arts Manage and monitor the implementation of the organisational strategy of cultural affairs to ensure effective service delivery and alignment with relevant strategies and practices Manage the development, compliance and implementation of policies, relevant frameworks and corporate governance to ensure compliance governance in the Department Oversee the operational management, coordination and implementation of programmes to ensure that the Department is kept in pace with the needs of the communities Manage and ensure effective and efficient execution of financial services to ensure compliance to Municipality financial administration Oversee and coordinate client service satisfaction and excellence Maintain good relationship and foster empowerment

Qualifications

  • Relevant B Degree in Library and Information Services, Cultural Studies, Arts, Culture and Heritage or a relevant equivalent qualification 6 years in a senior management position
  • Experience of relevant municipal, provincial and national systems, procedures, and policies
